Community and Preventive Dentistry
Preventive Dentistry is the science and art of oral health promotion by preventing the oral diseases thus aiming towards improving the quality of life of the people.
Along with many preventive programs at Rehmat hospital, department has actively been involved in various outreach activities to promote oral health among the school-children of Hazara division.
Services
- Develop and organize oral health promotional strategies for various population.
- Provide free dental checkups and awareness through outreach programs followed by dental treatment at Rehmat Hospital for the School-Chilren of districts Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur.
- Collaboration with different government and non government agencies to develop resources for free dental camps for the underprivileged population.
- Department is equipped with advance portable dental units to give services to people unable to attend hospital for their dental problems.

HoD Profile
Prof.Dr.Shahid Khan is HoD Community and Preventive Dentistry with more than 15 years of experience in the field of Public Health Dentistry. Under the supervision of head of the department, undergraduate dental students are equipped with the skills to practice preventive strategies in their clinical career.
